Work Experience

Social Sauce
New York City, NY
5/07 - 9/08
Web Designer & Producer
Most recently I worked for Sosauce, a new social networking web startup based in NYC and Taiwan. Most of my work there revolved around UI design and standards-based production using CSS, HTML and some Javascript. I also did occasional print and Adobe Flash-based work when it came along, but most of the workload at the site was HTML and CSS. At Sosauce I also participated in developing specs for upcoming projects, although this was not one of my primary responsibilities.
West Virginia University Extension Service
Morgantown, WV
8/06 - 10/06
Interim Graphic Designer
I was hired to help the transition between the previous designer who had been hired to start in September. My contract was extended until October and I worked on a number of different print projects while there, including a number of brochures and signage.
The Manahan Group
Charleston, WV
8/04 - 7/06
Graphic Designer
I was initially hired as a Summer intern, and put in lots of overtime on speculative work and worked on everything from video shoots to strategy session to a Summer camp for the agency. Mostly I did graphic design and a number of pieces I worked on were later awarded Gold and Silver Addy Awards. After completing my degree I returned to the Manahan Group, where I was hired as a full designer, and working on both print and web projects.

Computer Skills

I'm very skilled in hand coding CSS and XHTML, and I prefer to do so using a text editor such as Coda or TextMate, but I am also familiar with the workflow of Dreamweaver and Contribute. I'm very familiar with the Scriptaculous JavaScript library, and have enough knowledge of JavaScript and ActionScript to leverage them from time to time.

Additionally, I am fluent in the use of current and previous versions of the full Adobe suite of software, including Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash and InDesign. I have also extensively used Quark XPress and many older programs including Pagemaker, Freehand and GoLive.
